Doing it yourself vs Quickbell
Replying yourself is free and has the personal touch. A basic email auto-reply is free too. Here's an honest look at where each one shines.
| What matters | Replying yourself | A basic email auto-reply | Quickbell |
|---|---|---|---|
| How fast the customer hears back | Whenever you get a chance, which might be tonight | Straight away | Usually within about a minute, day or night |
| Asks about the job | Yes, when you reply | Usually just "we got your message" | A couple of questions you choose: what, where, how urgent |
| A way to book | If you include it | Only if you add it | Your booking link in every reply |
| What you get to read | The back-and-forth in your inbox | The original enquiry | A short summary, with the full conversation underneath |
| Personal touch | All you. Hard to beat | Generic | Friendly and labelled as automatic. You take it from there |
| Quotes and advice | You decide | None | Never. That stays with you |
| Texts, calls and DMs | Yes, when you can | Email only | Not yet: coming later |
| Cost | Free, but it costs your time and evenings | Usually free with your email | Free for 30 days, then A$149/month flat |
Not sure which is right for you? If you already reply within minutes most of the time, you may not need Quickbell. Here's how to write a great first reply yourself.
These are the terms we intend to offer during the pilot. We'll confirm them with you in writing before you start.
- The first 30 days are free, and no card is needed to start.
- After that, A$149/month, month to month. No lock-in contract: you can cancel any time.
- If you don't want to continue after the pilot, we switch it off. Nothing to pay.
- This is pilot pricing. It may change later, and we'll always tell you before it does.
- Prices are in Australian dollars. GST details are still being confirmed.

Say your average job is worth A$350 (an invented figure). One extra job a month that would otherwise have gone to someone else would more than cover A$149. Whether that happens for your business is exactly what the free pilot is for. Work out your own numbers.
Pricing questions
Do I need a card to start the pilot?
No. The pilot is free for 30 days and we don't ask for payment details to start it.
What happens after the 30 days?
We check in with you before the pilot ends. If you want to keep going, it's A$149/month flat (pilot pricing). If you don't, we switch it off. No bill out of nowhere.
Is it really a flat price?
That's the plan: one monthly price, not a fee per enquiry. It's pilot pricing, so it may change as we learn what it costs to run. If it ever does, we'll tell you before it affects you.
Is there a lock-in contract?
No lock-in is intended: month to month, cancel any time. We'll confirm the pilot terms with you in writing before you start. See the intended pilot terms.
Does it handle phone calls, texts or Facebook messages?
Not yet. Today Quickbell handles enquiries from your website form, by email. Text messages (SMS), missed calls and Facebook or Instagram messages are coming later. We'll say so on this site when they're ready, not before.
I'm not in Sydney. Can I still try it?
We're starting with Sydney so we can do it properly. If you're elsewhere in Australia, drop us a line anyway.
Something else? See the full FAQ or ask us. A real person will reply.
Try Quickbell free for 30 days.
Start with the free Lead Response Audit. It takes about two minutes, it's worked out in your browser, and nothing is sent to us unless you ask to join the pilot.
After the pilot: A$149/month flat (pilot pricing, may change; we'll always tell you first). No lock-in contract intended.
